A hospital situated in South Australia’s Bordertown faced some technical system failures. It has been three weeks since the hospital’s bedside paging system has been out of order. As an alternative, nurses have given patients old-fashioned bells to ring in case of any distress or assistance needed, along with this they have also increased their ward rounds.
This alternative hasn’t had any impacts on patients or their wellbeing, but it is certainly an inconvenience. It might have problems in the future.
The hospital proudly states that the most important thing to them is their patient’s safety and “the nurses there have made sure that every patient present in the hospital is frequently checked.”
Nurse call system is quite a technical system. It needs to be repaired now and then because you never know when it might breakdown and stop working.
